FUTUREGROUND | VENUE

The venue for FUTUREGROUND 2004 is the Faculty of Art & Design, Monash University. The Faculty is based at the Caulfield campus in an award-winning building designed by internationally renowned Australian architects, Denton Corker Marshall.

The Caulfield campus is only 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and has excellent access to public transport.

Melbourne, a sophisticated multicultural city of 3.5 million people, is the base for Monash's Australian campuses, and will provide a stimulating stage for FUTUREGROUND 2004.

Melbourne has impressive contemporary architecture within a rich heritage of 19th century buildings, and is a thriving centre for good living and all the arts. Delegates will sample one of Melbourne's major attractions when attending the Conference Dinner in the stunningly redesigned Mario Bellini/Metier 3 National Gallery of Victoria. After the dinner, delegates can cross the famous Yarra River and view another Melbourne landmark fast gaining an international reputation for its imposing modern architecture. Contrasted against classic Victorian facades, Federation Square will impress first time visitors to Melbourne.
